The accreditation, which follows the group reaching four million patient visits, benchmarks the firm against the rigorous safety and quality standards traditionally reserved for physical medical institutions.

The accreditation process involved a comprehensive audit of Talkiatry’s operations, privacy protocols, and patient care delivery. Surveyors conducted on-site observations and staff interviews to verify that the virtual-first provider meets the same stringent benchmarks as traditional brick-and-mortar hospitals. This external validation addresses a growing industry challenge: as psychiatric care shifts toward hybrid models, payers and patients have struggled to find consistent, independently verified quality metrics.

Dr. Georgia Gaveras, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, noted that the designation reinforces the group’s focus on longer, more personalized intake sessions. While many providers rely on brief interactions, Talkiatry’s model prioritizes 60-minute initial consultations to ensure clinical rigor. The company currently employs over 800 full-time psychiatrists and serves as a partner to more than 70 U.S. health systems. This milestone follows a year of rapid expansion for the group, including a 210 million dollar Series D funding round and a strategic partnership with the American Medical Group Association to broaden national access to in-network psychiatric care.
