The multi-phase collaboration focuses on integrating AI strategy directly with technical execution. Rather than treating planning and implementation as separate silos, the partners intend to build a robust data and governance foundation capable of supporting agentic AI at scale. According to Josh Viets, chief operating officer at Expand Energy, the goal is to create a reliable backbone for the company’s long-term business objectives.
Thoughtworks will spearhead three primary workstreams: identifying high-value use cases, establishing enterprise-grade AI platforms, and deploying production-ready solutions. Manish Sateeja, senior vice president at Thoughtworks, noted that the initiative addresses a common industry hurdle where firms struggle to convert experimental concepts into tangible business value. By prioritizing evidence-based roadmaps over theoretical assumptions, the engagement seeks to embed AI capabilities directly into the company’s day-to-day energy operations.
