The concept originated in 2016 when Boehm, founder of Miracle Cocktails Inc., approached Berry at his New Orleans bar, Latitude 29, to develop a warmer, island-themed alternative to the traditional Miracle Christmas pop-up. What began as a singular collaboration has matured into a widespread tradition, with Berry overseeing a cocktail program that prioritizes festive escapism. According to Berry, the most rewarding aspect has been witnessing the event integrate into the annual rituals of guests who return year after year.
To commemorate the anniversary, the 2026 menu features the debut of the Frosted Penguin Coupe, the program’s first stemmed glassware. This vessel will house the Pau Hana Penguin, a complex blend of tequila, tamarind, and miso-infused honey. The menu also reaches into its archives, reviving the inaugural Sippin' Santa cocktail—a mix of Demerara rum, amaro, and spiced syrups—alongside the fan-favorite 2019 creation, Christmas Eve of Destruction. These additions reflect a strategy of balancing nostalgia with new elements to maintain the pop-up's appeal as it enters its second decade.
