Located just 45 minutes from Santiago, the hotel occupies a site declared a National Historic Monument in 1972. Designed by German architect Teodoro Burchard, the estate features a 40-hectare centenary park, a neo-Gothic chapel, and the Andean Museum, which houses over 3,000 archaeological artifacts. The recognition from Michelin arrives as part of a 2026 global selection that included 20 Chilean properties, positioning the estate as a cornerstone of South American wine tourism.
Elena Carretero, director of corporate affairs and sustainability at Viña Santa Rita, stated that the award reaffirms the winery's commitment to preserving Chilean identity while offering a sophisticated guest experience. The property has consistently gained international attention, previously earning spots in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards and Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers' Choice rankings. Hotel manager Juan Vila attributed this latest honor to the dedication of the staff and the unique integration of gastronomy, history, and viticulture that defines the Maipo Valley destination.
