The agreement, announced at the APTA TRANSform & EXPO in Chicago, introduces an "as-a-service" model. NexMove will bundle the buses with integrated charging infrastructure, maintenance, and operational support. This structure is designed to simplify the transition for transit agencies and private operators by offering a 97% uptime service level agreement. Before the 2028 rollout, NexMove plans to deploy non-homologated demonstration units at Zeem’s charging depots to allow fleet operators to evaluate the technology firsthand.
VinFast brings significant experience to the U.S. market, currently operating approximately 2,000 electric buses across Vietnam. The vehicles feature LFP battery technology, advanced driver assistance systems, and anti-corrosion protection specifically engineered for urban environments. Paul Gioupis, co-founder of NexMove, noted that the company is working closely with VinFast toward future U.S. manufacturing to meet Federal Transit Administration requirements. This expansion follows VinFast’s broader strategy to establish a global footprint for its green mobility ecosystem, which already includes personal electric vehicles and e-scooters.
