By centralizing logistics in Glenview, S&C aims to improve material movement and gain the flexibility needed to scale its assembly lines. This move follows recent capacity growth in Palatine and ongoing infrastructure upgrades at the company's Chicago headquarters. CEO Anders Sjoelin noted that these investments are a direct response to the rising demand for electricity and the urgent need for grid reliability.
Modern utility challenges—driven by severe weather patterns, rapid electrification, and the massive power requirements of new data centers—have necessitated a shift toward more resilient distribution systems. As utilities scramble to fortify their networks, S&C is banking on this domestic expansion to shorten delivery times and maintain its role as a key supplier for critical infrastructure. Construction at the Glenview site is slated to commence in the third quarter of 2026.
