The adjustment, slated for October 19, 2026, follows a July notice from the NYSE regarding the company's failure to maintain a minimum average closing price of $1.00 over 30 consecutive trading days. While the shift significantly alters the share structure, AMTD maintains that business operations, financial condition, and equity remain unchanged. The Bank of New York Mellon will manage the exchange process, where holders must surrender 60 old ADSs for one new security.
No fractional shares will be issued; instead, the depositary bank will aggregate and sell fractional entitlements, distributing net proceeds to investors. Despite the technical maneuver, the company continues its ongoing share repurchase program, having already bought back over 4.4 million ADSs as of October 7. The ticker symbol AMTD will remain in use on the exchange following the transition.
