The project represents a strategic shift for the medical institution, which seeks to diversify its offerings to sustain long-term pediatric services. According to CEO Todd Suntrapak, the hospital must rethink traditional healthcare models to maintain the specialized programs that local families depend on. By integrating retail, dining, and hospitality into the campus, the hospital intends to create a more welcoming environment for families who often travel long distances for specialized treatment.
The upcoming venue, scheduled to open in the summer of 2027, will feature a full-service restaurant, an arcade, and a family-oriented mini-golf course. Topgolf CEO David McKillips noted that the collaboration is a first for his company, which typically operates in urban or commercial hubs rather than hospital campuses. For the hospital, the initiative is a calculated effort to strengthen the regional community infrastructure while providing a respite for visitors who spend extended periods away from home.
