Fitzgerald, who currently serves as executive vice president and group president of Cardiovascular, will oversee the company's global business units and regional operations. Under his previous tenure, the company expanded its portfolio through strategic investments and internal innovation. CEO Mike Mahoney noted that the leadership change aims to align the company's internal structure with its current scale and long-term growth ambitions.
Alongside this appointment, the corporation will shift to three primary reporting segments: Interventional Therapies, Rhythm Solutions, and MedSurg. Lance Bates will lead the Interventional Therapies segment, including the incoming Penumbra business. Nick Spadea-Anello will take charge of Rhythm Solutions, while Stephen Morse will manage the combined MedSurg and Asia Pacific division. These executives will report directly to Fitzgerald, marking a shift toward a more centralized operational model.
