The strategy, paired with an updated Responsible Management Policy, focuses on five core pillars: governance transparency, climate and nature protection, community empowerment, supply chain traceability, and overall ESG performance. By aligning its internal policies with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as the RSPO and GPSNR frameworks, the group seeks to standardize its approach to biodiversity and labor rights across its international plantations.
Céline Schmitz, Head of Sustainability at Socfin, described the roadmap as a vital mechanism to connect high-level commitments with measurable outcomes. The implementation process begins with a compliance-heavy phase through 2027, transitioning into deployment and consolidation by 2029, before shifting toward a data-driven focus on continuous improvement in the final two years of the cycle. This evolution marks a significant update to the management principles first established by the firm in 2017.
