The platform functions by aligning student work with local outcome frameworks. Instead of static percentages, teachers, parents, and students access dashboards that display photos, videos, and specific work evidence. This transition toward competency-based assessment allows educators to co-create success criteria with students, turning learning into a documented, ongoing process rather than a periodic report card event.
Designed for district-wide implementation, the system integrates directly with existing student information software. Dedicated mobile applications for iOS and Android facilitate the capture of evidence, utilizing QR codes to simplify interaction for younger students. According to Eric Sheninger of Aspire Change EDU, the technology provides the visibility necessary for students to take ownership of their academic development.
Early adopters, including the North East School Division in Saskatchewan, Canada, have already begun integrating the tool. Stephanie Pipke-Painchaud, the division's coordinator of learning, noted that the platform allows for reflective conversations where students share evidence to support their progress. By moving away from conventional grading, the system aims to foster a culture of transparency and evidence-based instruction across the K-12 landscape.
