Century Communities Acquires HistoryMaker Homes to Dominate Texas Market

Century Communities has acquired HistoryMaker Homes, the longest-standing production builder in Texas, in a move that triples the buyer’s community footprint across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The deal integrates the 75-year-old family firm into the national builder's operations, significantly bolstering its land pipeline in the nation's largest housing market.

The acquisition of the Grapevine-based HistoryMaker Homes marks a strategic shift for Century Communities, which aims to leverage the local brand's legacy to accelerate its regional growth. By absorbing HistoryMaker’s assets, the national builder secures a deeper foothold in the competitive DFW sector, where the two companies will now operate as a single unified division. Leadership from HistoryMaker will transition into the Century organization to ensure continuity for current homebuyers and ongoing construction projects.

Beyond the immediate operational merger, the deal establishes a long-term strategic partnership with Jabez Development, the sister land company of HistoryMaker. Jabez will continue to manage land development for select communities, providing Century Communities with a steady supply of future lots. While HistoryMaker's homebuilding division is now part of Century, the family’s related entities, including the build-to-rent firm ONM Living, will remain under independent ownership.
