According to the complaint, the company’s SEC filings presented potential False Claims Act enforcement as a hypothetical risk, failing to mention that a federal investigation into cybersecurity noncompliance was already underway.

This oversight came to light on September 1, 2026, when Honeywell agreed to a $2.04 million settlement with the Justice Department. The agreement resolved allegations that the company submitted payment claims while failing to meet NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity standards on a Department of Defense contract between 2020 and 2023. Shareholders claim these omissions led to inflated stock prices, which plummeted following the settlement and separate disclosures regarding supply chain constraints. HONA shares dropped 23.16% on August 6, 2026, followed by a further 2.45% decline on September 1, 2026.
