Xiaomi Shares Surge Following Strong SkyNomad SUV Orders

With over 70,000 locked-in orders reported since its September launch, Xiaomi’s new SkyNomad SUV series has triggered an 8.5% rally in the company’s Hong Kong-listed stock. The surge marks the tech giant's strongest daily performance since July, signaling renewed investor confidence in its expansion into the plug-in hybrid market.

Xiaomi Shares Surge Following Strong SkyNomad SUV Orders

The SkyNomad lineup represents Xiaomi’s first foray into the plug-in hybrid SUV segment, featuring the seven-seater N90 and the five-seater N70. The N90 carries a starting presale price of 299,900 yuan, approximately $44,745, while the N70 begins at 259,900 yuan. Although Citi analysts characterized the order ramp as slower than initial projections, they noted that market expectations for the launch remained modest, allowing the figures to drive positive sentiment.

Sector peers mirrored the upward trend on the Hong Kong exchange, albeit with smaller gains. BYD shares climbed 3.5%, Geely Automobile rose 2.7%, and XPeng saw a 2.3% increase, reflecting a broader recovery for Chinese electric-vehicle manufacturers during Friday's trading session.
