Nihon Enterprise Posts Wider First-Quarter Loss

A 22 million yen net loss for the first quarter ending August 31 marks a deepening deficit for Nihon Enterprise Co. Ltd., as the Tokyo-listed company struggles against shrinking revenue. The firm’s latest financial report highlights a significant downturn compared to the 7 million yen loss recorded during the same period last year.

Nihon Enterprise Posts Wider First-Quarter Loss

Quarterly revenue dropped to 993 million yen, down from 1.08 billion yen a year earlier. This decline in top-line growth coincided with a widened operating loss of 40 million yen, a sharp increase from the 11 million yen deficit reported in the previous year. Pretax profit also swung into negative territory at 17 million yen, contrasting with a 5 million yen profit in the prior period.

Calculated under Japanese accounting standards, the company’s per-share earnings fell to a loss of 0.58 yen. These results reflect a challenging start to the fiscal year for the group, as rising costs and diminished income streams continue to weigh on the bottom line.
