Perceptive Discovery and Nucleus RadioPharma Partner on Radiotherapy

Boston-based Perceptive Discovery and Nucleus RadioPharma have launched a strategic partnership aimed at bridging the gap between preclinical molecular imaging and clinical-scale manufacturing, seeking to accelerate the development of radiopharmaceutical therapies from early target validation through to patient delivery.

The collaboration unites two distinct stages of the drug development lifecycle. Perceptive Discovery provides expertise in radiochemistry, preclinical models, and dosimetry, which are critical for candidate selection. Nucleus RadioPharma contributes the infrastructure for GMP radiolabeling, isotope supply chain management, and regulatory support. By establishing a joint governance structure, the companies plan to reduce the friction often encountered when transitioning from experimental imaging to clinical-grade production.

Stephen Hahn, CEO of Nucleus RadioPharma, described the initiative as an integrated pathway designed to prioritize manufacturability from the earliest phases of research. This non-exclusive agreement allows both firms to operate independently while referring clients to one another. For sponsors, the goal is to create a more predictable roadmap that mitigates scientific and manufacturing risks, ensuring that data gathered during preclinical studies informs the design of first-in-human clinical trials.
