Air Secures $200 Million Army Contract for Command and Control Tech

The Department of War has tapped software firm Air for a five-year, $200 million deal to bolster the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Command and Control ecosystem. The contract marks a transition for the AI-native platform from prototype testing to full-scale operational delivery across the force, beginning with I Corps.

The partnership focuses on refining the Army's ability to sync frontline needs with supply chains. Air’s software translates field operations into live demand signals, allowing commanders to anticipate stock levels and unit capacity rather than reacting to shortages as they arise. This predictive approach aims to slash sensor-to-shooter timelines, a key objective for the service's modernization efforts.

This agreement follows successful field trials with the 4th Infantry Division and integration during Project Convergence Capstone 6, where the technology was tested against simulated warfare scenarios. CEO Tara Murphy Dougherty noted that the award solidifies the Army's reliance on their platform to provide real-time operational visibility. As the NGC2 system moves toward wider adoption, Air will work alongside military and industry partners to bridge the gap between supply chain logistics and combat readiness.
