This partnership aligns with the Department of War's Arsenal of Freedom initiative, which prioritizes the high-volume output of precision munitions over the development of singular, highly complex weapons. Jason Hundley, CEO of X-Bow, emphasized that modern combat effectiveness relies on the sheer quantity of rounds available, positioning his firm to scale production rapidly to meet these demands.
The agreement marks the sixth propulsion-related program win for X-Bow in 2026, following a recent contract that saw the delivery of over 2,100 combat-ready rocket motors. By utilizing proprietary additive manufacturing, the company aims to bypass long-standing bottlenecks in the domestic supply chain, a sector previously dominated by a small group of large-scale contractors. Full-rate production of the LCCM boosters is slated to begin in 2027, following a series of design phases and static fire tests.
