The company’s growth was driven by strong performance across its two primary business units. Metal Coatings sales rose 22.9% to $233.5 million, bolstered by higher processing volumes in the infrastructure and industrial sectors. Simultaneously, the Precoat Metals segment reached $253.4 million in sales, an 11.5% increase attributed to higher coil-coating volumes and the successful ramp-up of a new production facility in Washington, Missouri.
While GAAP net income fell 34.6% to $58.5 million—largely due to prior-year comparisons involving the sale of the Electrical Products Group—adjusted net income climbed 28.1% to $60.1 million. CEO Tom Ferguson noted that the results reflect the durability of the firm's business model and continued investment in operational capacity. Bolstered by these results, management increased its full-year sales guidance to a range of $1.825 billion to $1.875 billion, while also raising its adjusted diluted earnings per share target to $7.00–$7.30.
AZZ also utilized its improved cash position to return value to shareholders, repurchasing $20 million in common stock and increasing its quarterly dividend by 20% to $0.24 per share. Capital allocation remained disciplined, with $57.5 million directed toward the acquisition of Seattle Galvanizing and $15 million used to pay down debt, bringing the company's net leverage ratio to 1.3x.
