The 2026 assessment, based on Scopus data, evaluates researchers through a composite of citation metrics, including h-index and authorship-adjusted impact. Shen’s inclusion highlights over three decades of clinical and academic focus on mandibular repositioning, temporomandibular joint remodeling, and the management of complex dentofacial deformities. His work has appeared in prominent publications such as the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and the Journal of Dental Research, comprising more than 100 papers.

Since 2019, Shen has deepened his research through a strategic collaboration with Smartee Denti-Technology. This partnership centers on the clinical translation of mandibular repositioning techniques, notably contributing to the development of the Smartee GS technology system. According to Shen, the recognition serves as a validation of his team’s long-term commitment to advancing orthodontic science and improving clinical outcomes for patients with complex malocclusions. His recent research continues to influence contemporary practice by examining the biological mechanisms behind jaw position and joint adaptation.
