The DCE 9000 initiative represents a collaborative push by 78 organizations and 191 technical experts to stabilize a supply chain currently strained by unprecedented AI-driven investment. By creating a shared language for operators, suppliers, and contractors, the standard seeks to improve reliability and predictability across the full facility lifecycle. Gino Tozzi, Global Head of Data Center Infrastructure Quality at Google and chair of the technical committee, noted that the standard is vital for enabling capacity at scale while ensuring supply chain resilience.
Participating organizations have until November 30, 2026, to submit formal feedback on the document. The TIA QuEST Forum, which manages the initiative, remains on schedule to publish the final version in the first quarter of 2027. Ahead of the final release, the association is hosting a webinar on November 10 and a summit in New Orleans on November 18 to address industry challenges regarding power, sustainability, and construction consistency.
