While the agency identified the risk through routine testing, health authorities confirmed that no illnesses linked to the affected items have been reported to date.

The scope of the recall spans multiple brands and varieties, including cheddar, Swiss, and mozzarella products sold under the L'Ancêtre label. Empire Co.’s Farm Boy brand is also impacted, with specific lots of its cheddar and Swiss cheeses pulled from shelves. Additionally, the recall encompasses one Life Smart mozzarella product.

Consumers in possession of these items are advised to avoid consumption and return the goods to the place of purchase. The CFIA continues to oversee the removal of these products from the market to ensure public safety, following the positive test results that triggered the alert.
