As industrial electrification intensifies and urban infrastructure demands higher safety standards, dry-type units are increasingly favored over traditional liquid-filled counterparts. These systems, which utilize cast resin or open-wound designs, eliminate spill risks and reduce maintenance burdens, making them essential for indoor installations and mission-critical facilities like transport hubs and commercial complexes. Asia Pacific currently commands the largest regional share at 34 percent, followed by North America and Europe, where aggressive grid upgrades and data center expansion are fueling procurement cycles.
Manufacturers are responding to this sustained demand by scaling production capacity and tightening regional supply chains to minimize lead times. Major industry players, including Hitachi Energy and Hammond Power Solutions, have recently committed significant capital to new facilities in Spain, the United States, and beyond. While these systems often carry higher upfront costs, the focus has shifted toward lifecycle efficiency and thermal performance, forcing project developers to prioritize long-term reliability and site-specific safety compliance over initial equipment pricing.
