Key, who currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer, represents the sixth leader in the credit union’s 88-year history. Her tenure at the firm mirrors Shaffer’s in duration, providing a sense of continuity as the institution moves past a milestone year defined by the acquisitions of Meadows Bank and Greater Nevada Credit Union. With nearly 1.7 million members and $27 billion in assets, the organization now operates across six states.
Shaffer assumed the top role in 2021, guiding the credit union through the economic volatility of the pandemic and a series of strategic mergers. Board Chair Linda Carver credited him with fostering a culture of transparency and member-focused service. Key, having worked closely with Shaffer in finance and accounting roles, plans to maintain that trajectory while overseeing the credit union's evolving digital infrastructure and regional growth.
