The certification process spanned eight months, requiring the company to overhaul its quality systems to meet the exacting demands of aerospace manufacturers. By achieving this standard, Crest Coating can now provide certified applications for Teflon, Xylan, Halar, and various powder coatings, ensuring components meet safety and performance requirements for flight hardware. CEO Jeff Erickson noted that the new framework provides customers with documented traceability and refined inspection processes designed to identify potential issues before components proceed to final assembly.
Operating from a 50,000-square-foot facility in Southern California, the company intends to leverage this status to expand its portfolio in the defense and aerospace markets. The firm, which has operated since 1967, maintains existing ISO 9001:2015 credentials and serves sectors ranging from semiconductors to medical electronics. With these new protocols in place, Crest Coating aims to provide a more reliable source for critical defense programs and commercial aerospace manufacturing.
