Cineverse to Adapt Mayfair Watchers Society Into Horror Feature

With over three million downloads since its 2022 debut, the horror podcast Mayfair Watchers Society is heading to the big screen. Cineverse announced a deal with creator Trevor Henderson to develop a found-footage anthology film, marking a significant expansion for the hit audio series produced by Bloody FM.

The upcoming feature will draw from the podcast’s library of uncanny creatures and urban legends, including characters like The Needle, Creekman, and Owls with Teeth. Trevor Henderson, whose viral creations such as Siren Head and Cartoon Cat have recently sparked intense Hollywood interest, will serve as a producer and contribute to the writing team. The project aims to translate the podcast’s signature style of audio accounts and found tapes into a visual anthology format.

This move aligns with Cineverse’s strategy of leveraging niche intellectual property with dedicated fanbases, a model that previously yielded box-office success with the Terrifier franchise. As the podcast prepares for its fourth season on the Cineverse Podcast Network, the film production will move forward alongside the existing audio series. Henderson, who co-created the show with Pacific Obadiah, noted that he intends to remain hands-on during the development of the directing and writing teams.
