The upcoming weekend fundraiser marks a milestone for the organization, which has provided no-cost interim housing and recovery programs to combat veterans since 2012. For Wright, the partnership carries a profound personal weight; she lost her uncle to suicide after his own struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder. Through her firm’s sponsorship, she seeks to ensure that no service member faces the recovery process in isolation.
Beyond traditional barbecue competition, the 2026 event introduces a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo to the festivities. The proceeds will directly bolster the foundation’s six- to nine-month residential program, which integrates peer-driven mentoring, clinical partnerships, and professional development. According to Christy Carbaugh of the PTSD Foundation of America, the initiative remains focused on helping participants reclaim their sense of purpose and successfully reconnect with their families.
