The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, covers investors who purchased Alphabet Class A or Class C shares between May 19 and July 16, 2026. According to the complaint, company leadership touted significant improvements in the model during investor calls, failing to disclose that a late-June data update yielded disappointing results and pushed the project months behind its original delivery schedule.
Attorney Joseph E. Levi argues that these omissions left the market with an incomplete picture of the risks facing the company’s core AI roadmap. When a report finally surfaced detailing the training setbacks, Class A shares tumbled by $16.46, while Class C shares fell by $16.39. Shareholders seeking to be appointed as lead plaintiff in the case must submit their applications by December 1, 2026. Eligibility for the action applies to those who purchased shares during the specified class period, regardless of whether they retain their holdings or have already sold them at a loss.
