Multiliquid Secures $8 Million to Streamline Tokenized Asset Liquidity

Institutional liquidity protocol Multiliquid has closed an $8 million seed round led by Polychain, aiming to solve the settlement bottlenecks currently hindering real-world asset adoption. The funding round includes backing from Strobe Ventures, CMT Digital, Metalayer Ventures, Generative Ventures, and Circle Ventures to build out the platform's atomic transaction infrastructure.

While tokenized Treasuries and private credit represent a rapidly expanding sector, institutional adoption faces significant friction from traditional multi-day subscription and redemption cycles. Federal stablecoin frameworks, such as the GENIUS Act, further complicate matters by restricting direct yield payments to holders. Multiliquid serves as a compliance-first layer designed to allow institutions to rotate between yield-bearing assets and stablecoins in a single atomic transaction.

The protocol currently supports assets from major managers including Wellington Management, VanEck, Janus Henderson, and Fasanara, alongside stablecoins like USDC. According to founder and CEO Will Beeson, the platform replicates the function of traditional repo facilities to provide the necessary plumbing for on-chain finance. Olaf Carlson-Wee, founder of Polychain, noted that the protocol addresses the liquidity bottleneck by creating a connective layer that allows for seamless movement across various issuers and venues.
