The bioprocess sector, which encompasses the specialized instruments and materials used to manufacture antibodies, vaccines, and recombinant proteins, remains heavily reliant on recurring revenue from consumables. These items, including filters, resins, and media, accounted for 62 percent of product value in 2025. As manufacturers scale up production, downstream processing—the purification and filtration stage—continues to dominate the cost structure, representing 54 percent of process-related revenue.
Geographically, North America leads the market with a 40 percent share, supported by established biologics pipelines and advanced manufacturing initiatives. However, the Asia Pacific region is expected to see the most rapid acceleration, with a projected 10.38 percent annual growth rate fueled by new contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) sites in hubs like South Korea, China, and India. While fed-batch technology currently accounts for 58 percent of the market, continuous processing is emerging as a critical growth area, with an anticipated 12.56 percent compound annual growth rate as companies seek to improve efficiency and reduce batch turnaround times.
