Gaskins, who joined the company in 2020, has been instrumental in the recent resurgence of Linzess, the firm's flagship treatment for irritable bowel syndrome. Chair Julie McHugh credited Gaskins’ deep institutional knowledge and her success in driving the drug to blockbuster status as primary factors in her selection for the top post. Following the transition, McCourt will maintain his connection to the firm by continuing his service on the board of directors.
Since ascending to the role of chief commercial officer in January 2025, Gaskins has overseen key brand management initiatives. Her rise follows McCourt’s long tenure, which began in 2009. McCourt eventually transitioned from his initial roles in marketing and sales to become president and interim CEO before formally securing the permanent leadership position in 2021.
