Adjusted earnings hit $1.24 per share, surpassing analyst expectations of $1.20 despite revenue of $8.09 billion falling slightly short of Wall Street estimates. Florida Power & Light, the company’s primary utility arm, contributed $1.62 billion to the bottom line, while the renewable-focused NextEra Energy Resources added $1.49 billion. This renewable unit is currently prioritizing large-scale expansion, including a 97-mile natural gas pipeline partnership with Chesapeake Utilities and three federal hub projects set to deliver 16.5 gigawatts of capacity.

Management is now targeting the high end of its 2026 adjusted earnings range of $3.92 to $4.02 per share. Looking further ahead, the company maintains a compound annual growth rate target of at least 8% through 2035, predicated on a 2025 baseline of $3.71 per share. Operational milestones remain on track, with the Duane Arnold nuclear plant in Iowa slated to return to service by early 2029.
