Nasdaq Outpaces NYSE as Tech IPOs Fuel Financial Rally

The Nasdaq stock exchange has secured a decisive lead over the NYSE in major listings this year, capturing 59 companies and raising $120 billion in traditional IPOs. This surge, bolstered by the anticipated entry of AI giant Anthropic, highlights a shifting landscape where technology deals dictate market dominance.

Nasdaq Outpaces NYSE as Tech IPOs Fuel Financial Rally

Financial institutions enjoyed a broader uplift as robust earnings reports bolstered market sentiment. Moody’s shares climbed after the firm reported that high demand for credit ratings in the AI infrastructure sector successfully offset a persistent slowdown in private-equity leveraged finance. S&P Global followed a similar upward trajectory, tracking the positive momentum among industry peers.

Capital One Financial contributed to the sector's optimism by posting steady third-quarter growth in both earnings and revenue. Meanwhile, the competitive divide between major exchanges continues to widen. While the Nasdaq has attracted $120 billion in capital through Friday, the NYSE has secured 32 companies raising $20 billion, underscoring the tech-heavy focus currently driving the primary markets.
