Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, the firms will assess regulatory requirements and commercial viability before launching services. Pony AI will provide its seventh-generation robotaxis, while inDrive manages the platform and daily operations. Nvidia rounds out the collaboration by supplying its Hyperion infrastructure and Halos safety systems to support the autonomous fleet.
This initiative signals a strategic expansion for Pony AI, which already maintains operations across China, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. While the companies have withheld specific timelines, investment figures, and fleet sizes, the project serves as a test case for broader expansion into other markets within the inDrive network. Arsen Tomsky, founder and CEO of inDrive, noted the potential for autonomous mobility to improve transit accessibility, while Pony AI Chief Executive James Peng emphasized that the venture leverages the company's existing experience in scaling driverless systems globally.
