Revenue for the Japanese firm edged up to 14.44 billion yen, compared to 14.03 billion yen in the same period last year. However, this growth failed to offset significant contractions elsewhere in the ledger. Operating profit halved to 333 million yen from 667 million yen, while pretax profit saw an even steeper decline, falling to 283 million yen from 695 million yen.
Earnings per share reflected this downturn, sliding to 38.27 yen from 96.30 yen in the previous year. These figures, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, underscore a challenging half-year performance for the Tokyo-listed entity as bottom-line results failed to keep pace with marginal gains in sales volume.
