SoFi Raises 2026 Forecast as Loan Demand Hits Record Highs

Shares of SoFi Technologies climbed 12% in Tuesday premarket trading after the lender reported a record surge in membership and loan originations. SoFi Raises 2026 Forecast as Loan Demand Hits Record Highs

The company’s growth was driven by a 69% spike in personal-loan originations, which reached $12.6 billion, and a near-doubling of student loan volume to $2.9 billion. This performance pushed total loan originations to a record $16.9 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30. Net revenue rose 44% to $1.39 billion, comfortably beating Wall Street projections of $1.26 billion. Profit for the period climbed to $241 million, or 18 cents a share, exceeding the 17 cents per share anticipated by analysts.

Capitalizing on this momentum, SoFi lifted its 2026 guidance to adjusted earnings of 61 cents a share on $5.04 billion in revenue. The company also unveiled ambitious targets for 2030, aiming to reach 100 million products while scaling five distinct business lines to over $1 billion in revenue each. Currently, the firm maintains eight separate business units that each generate more than $100 million in annualized revenue, supported by a diverse mix of loan fees, interchange income, and brokerage services.
