CoStar Group is moving to solidify its dominance in real estate analytics, announcing a $730 million cash acquisition of aerial imagery provider Vexcel. CoStar Group Expands Data Reach with $730 Million Vexcel Buyout

The acquisition provides CoStar with a scalable pipeline for land and structure imagery, which the company intends to scale by embedding Vexcel’s technology into its broader sales network. CoStar plans to finance the purchase through a mix of existing cash reserves and a revolving credit facility, betting that visual intelligence will become a critical differentiator in its property database.

Simultaneously, CoStar reported a strong third quarter, posting net income of $74 million—a significant rebound from the $31 million loss recorded during the same period last year. Revenue climbed to $952 million, narrowly beating analyst expectations of $945.8 million. Following these results, the company raised its full-year revenue outlook to a range of $3.75 billion to $3.77 billion, while lifting its adjusted earnings forecast to $1.38 to $1.41 per share.
