Cawachi Profit Dips as Half-Year Revenue Stagnates

Cawachi Ltd. reported a softening in financial performance for the half-year ending September 15, with net profit slipping to 2.25 billion yen from 2.46 billion yen a year earlier. The decline mirrors a broader contraction in top-line figures, as the retailer navigated a challenging economic environment during the six-month period.

The company’s revenue for the half-year reached 144.14 billion yen, a slight decrease from the 145.36 billion yen recorded in the same period of 2025. Operating profit followed a similar downward trajectory, settling at 3.01 billion yen compared to 3.21 billion yen in the previous year. Pretax profit also saw a contraction, falling to 3.47 billion yen from 3.81 billion yen.

Shareholders saw earnings per share drop to 100.85 yen, down from 110.05 yen in the prior year, while diluted earnings per share were reported at 100.73 yen. These results, calculated under Japanese accounting standards, reflect the current fiscal pressures facing the organization.
