Despite the drop in net profit, revenue for the period ending September 30 climbed to 21.39 billion yen, up from 20.43 billion yen in 2025. This growth in top-line figures failed to offset rising costs and other pressures, as operating profit retreated to 1.59 billion yen from 1.73 billion yen a year earlier. Pretax profit followed a similar downward trajectory, settling at 1.62 billion yen compared to 1.73 billion yen in the prior period.
The decline in profitability is clearly reflected in the company's per-share performance. Earnings per share fell to 34.10 yen from 90.43 yen, while diluted earnings per share dropped to 34.05 yen from 90.22 yen. These figures highlight the fiscal headwinds Eiken Chemical faced throughout the first half of the 2026 reporting cycle.
