Lobo Tiggre Bets on Uranium as Market Gap Widens

Lobo Tiggre, founder of The Independent Speculator, is rotating his cash reserves into the uranium sector, viewing the current disconnect between rising contract prices and falling mining stocks as a clear buying opportunity while he waits for a more favorable entry point into silver and gold.

Lobo Tiggre Bets on Uranium as Market Gap Widens

The long-term contract price for uranium hit a record $99 per pound on Oct. 31, according to TradeTech, even as the Sprott Uranium Miners ETF saw a sharp decline of 52% from its January peak. Tiggre attributes the selloff to investors exiting the sector after using it as a proxy for artificial intelligence stocks, compounded by premature tax-loss harvesting. He argues that this market weakness is a gift, noting that he is prioritizing high-quality blue-chip miners over speculative junior explorers.

While Tiggre maintains a long-term interest in bullion, he remains sidelined on gold and silver stocks, waiting for a better risk-reward setup. He expects the uranium spot market to eventually snap back and potentially exceed long-term contract prices by the end of the year. Beyond commodities, he is watching the inverse correlation between oil and copper to navigate potential market volatility, maintaining a disciplined strategy of building positions in increments rather than chasing price rallies.
