The Irving-based company posted adjusted earnings of $11.68 per share, comfortably clearing the $10.72 consensus estimate from FactSet analysts. Total revenue climbed 8% to $110.96 billion, fueled by robust performance in provider solutions and specialty distribution. While the North American pharmaceutical segment—the company's largest—saw volume growth in prescriptions, gains were slightly tempered by lower contributions from branded drug sales.
Management now projects adjusted earnings between $45.60 and $46.40 per share, an upward revision from the previous $44.20 to $45 range. This financial momentum coincides with an aggressive expansion strategy. Following a $2.25 billion acquisition of Precision Medicine Group in August, McKesson recently partnered with CD&R to acquire Option Care Health for $5.8 billion. This latest move, slated to close in the first half of next year, underscores a broader push to integrate home-based infusion therapy into the company's existing care continuum.
