The higher payout amounts to $2.89 a year per share. Based on Evergy’s Wednesday closing price of $86.21, the annual yield is about 3.35%, compared with 3.22% before the increase.
Evergy Lifts Quarterly Dividend 4% to 72.25 Cents
Evergy’s board approved a 4% increase in the company’s quarterly dividend, lifting the payment to 72.25 cents a share from 69.5 cents. The Kansas City, Mo.-based utility holding company said the new dividend will be paid Dec. 18 to shareholders on record Nov. 20.
