Founded by billionaire and former Walmart executive Marc Lore, Wonder announced a $650 million Series D funding round in July at a pre-money valuation of $9 billion. Lore said in an August interview with The Wall Street Journal that the company would target an IPO in 2027.
Wonder runs eateries offering menus from multiple restaurant concepts and celebrity chefs. It has also been investing in automation, including salad- and sauce-making robots. The company expects automation to improve efficiency and help lower prices, giving it a competitive edge.
Delivery accounts for much of Wonder’s business. The company owns food-delivery platform Grubhub and meal-kit company Blue Apron. A spokesperson declined to comment further on the IPO filing, citing Securities and Exchange Commission quiet-period restrictions.
