Alfa Laval to Buy Navtor for $700 Million

Alfa Laval has agreed to pay $700 million in cash for Norwegian maritime software provider Navtor, adding e-navigation and fleet-performance products to the Swedish company’s ocean division. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, pending regulatory approvals.

Alfa Laval to Buy Navtor for $700 Million

Navtor develops systems for safer, more streamlined vessel operations, fleet management and business processes. Alfa Laval said the company’s platform will be combined with its StormGeo weather-intelligence and PortChain ports and terminals data platforms, creating a broader portfolio of digital fleet solutions.

“Navtor's e-navigation and performance solutions will give Alfa Laval a strong product position across on-vessel software deployment as well as performance and route optimization across the global fleet,” Alfa Laval said.

The transaction is expected to be neutral to Alfa Laval’s group margin in the short term. Navtor is headquartered in Norway, employs 400 people across 13 offices and has estimated 2026 turnover of around $194 million.
