The decision follows a 2024 restructuring that split the firm into two core operating segments. While the immune medicine business has proven effective at identifying therapeutic targets and accelerating precision drug development, leadership believes the unit requires a different capital structure to reach its full potential.
Chief Executive Chad Robins stated that the move allows Adaptive to double down on its leadership in minimal residual disease testing. By detaching the immune medicine arm, the company hopes to secure the growth support necessary for the division to flourish independently of its diagnostic operations.
