Urovo Launches DT610 Pro Rugged Terminal with On-Device AI

Singapore-based Urovo has unveiled the DT610 Pro, a ruggedized terminal engineered to handle extreme industrial conditions while processing artificial intelligence tasks locally. By integrating the Qualcomm Q-6690 platform, the device aims to eliminate cloud-dependency for field engineers and warehouse staff who require real-time data capture in high-pressure environments.

The hardware relies on a 4nm chipset featuring a 6 TOPS AI engine, allowing for immediate OCR and voice-assisted workflows. This shift to edge computing is designed to reduce latency for mission-critical tasks, such as scanning barcodes or processing contactless payments. Urovo has committed to platform support through 2034, positioning the device as a long-term asset rather than a short-cycle consumer tool.

Durability remains the core focus for the DT610 Pro, which carries an IP68 rating and withstands drops from 1.8 meters. It operates in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C, supported by a hot-swappable battery for continuous shifts. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7 with Multi-Link Operation for dense warehouse settings and 5G for remote field synchronization. CTO Zhang Bo noted that the terminal is designed to minimize downtime, combining a 50MP camera with specialized RFID and NFC sensors to create a comprehensive data capture platform for logistics and manufacturing sectors.
