The procurement package encompasses both live NLAW hardware and a suite of indoor and outdoor training systems. France has also secured options to acquire additional units beyond the initial order. This deal deepens the relationship between the two parties, as the French Armed Forces already utilize Saab’s AT4 and Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon platforms.

Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s Dynamics business area, stated that the system introduces a new dimension of anti-tank effectiveness for French soldiers, allowing for the neutralization of heavily armored threats in seconds. Designed for ease of use, the NLAW requires no complex setup and features a smart guidance system that enables a single operator to engage targets from unconventional positions, including inside buildings or from behind cover. The weapon is currently in service with several nations, including Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Finland.
