MediSun Energy and Yanrun Form Global Water Treatment Venture

At the Singapore International Water Week 2026, Singapore-based MediSun Energy and China’s Yanrun Membrane Technology announced a joint venture to export advanced water treatment systems. The new entity will operate from Singapore, targeting industrial sectors in Southeast Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council region with specialized zero liquid discharge solutions.

The partnership combines MediSun Energy’s international network and brine management expertise with Yanrun’s proprietary electro-membrane manufacturing capabilities. By establishing a Singapore-based platform, the companies aim to bypass traditional disposal methods that are increasingly becoming economically and environmentally unsustainable for heavy industry.

The venture will focus on the deployment of Electrodialysis Bipolar Membrane (EDBM), Electrodialysis Metathesis (EDM), and Pressurised Forward Osmosis (PFO) systems. According to Dusun Kim, CEO of MediSun Planet, the collaboration seeks to transform industrial environmental liabilities into viable resource streams. Yanrun Chairman Huang Quansen noted that the move serves as a cornerstone for his company’s global expansion, leveraging Singapore’s position as a hub for green technological innovation to scale their membrane technology beyond the Chinese market.
