The Marchenas began their transition from corporate finance to child care in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, before establishing a presence in Lakewood Ranch in 2022. By integrating the operational rigor of their previous careers with a child-focused curriculum, the pair aims to create a scalable model for local education. According to Sanddy Marchena, the strategy relies on applying leadership principles that allow staff to prioritize student development.
The new center, which officially opened on March 2, is licensed to accommodate 190 children. The site includes 12 classrooms and a 6,000-square-foot outdoor area divided into three play zones, featuring splash pads and a VersaCourt. Beyond standard care, the academy will participate in the state-funded Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program, a initiative from the Florida Department of Education designed to prepare 4-year-olds for the transition to primary school. With a staff of 25 educators, the facility represents a significant addition to the county's available educational resources.
