The United States remains the dominant force in the insomnia treatment sector, reporting 60 million diagnosed cases in 2025. Market expansion is currently fueled by a combination of heightened disease awareness and a robust pipeline of emerging therapies. Among the most closely watched candidates are Johnson & Johnson’s Seltorexant, Vanda Pharmaceuticals' HETLIOZ, and Idorsia’s Daridorexant, which aim to address long-standing unmet needs in sleep maintenance and onset.
Ramandeep Singh, a senior forecasting consultant at DelveInsight, noted that the industry is entering a transformative phase. While traditional treatments like benzodiazepines have long served as the standard, the focus is shifting toward non-habit-forming options. Recent regulatory progress, such as the approval of Taisho Pharmaceutical’s VORZZZ in Japan, underscores the demand for therapies that minimize next-day residual drowsiness. As these newer classes of drugs move through clinical trials and gain broader market access, they are expected to redefine the competitive landscape for sleep health through 2036.
